Code switching at 7 years old

As a kid I was rambunctious, high energy, some would describe me as the class clown. I had a lot of personality and loved making everyone laugh. Though my personality was BIG, I hid some elements of myself, worried I’d be picked on for being me.

Playing video games was one of those things. Secretly playing Pokemon while on the phone with a girlfriend is a true story. No wonder friends loved to chat with me, I probably came across as a spectacular listener, ha.
