Dad’s BMW
A recurring element in Cerasee is my illustrative take on a late 80’s BMW. My dad had one growing up because Jamaica, haha.
Towards the end of its time with us, before my dad sold it off to a mechanic he knew—it was not drivable and would stay parked in our driveway. Still enamoured by this vehicle, I would sit in it and just hang out. Play with my toys, draw, play Nintendo. But could only hang out there when it wasn’t too hot because of those leather seats.
I think I owe it and him for my adult obsession with drawing boxy cars. His was black but I love red so dad in Cerasee drives a red one.
This is a short animated shot from the series of shorts I’m making. This one’s about dad and I spending time.
